SERVICE EXPERIENCE

At Embers we value certification by the National Fireplace Institute.  Every single fireplace manufacturer specifies that ONLY NFI-certified technicians should be involved with the installation, service, and repair of their products.  Our technicians have been trained directly by manufacturers in the proper diagnosis and repair of their systems, so Embers is uniquely prepared to service and repair almost all brands of fireplaces, gas logs, and heaters.  We like to say, “If we can’t fix it; it can’t be fixed.”

At Embers, we're not just passionate about creating cozy, welcoming spaces with custom fireplaces. We’re also dedicated to keeping them in perfect condition. This is why we’re proud to embark on the next evolution of our story: the acquisition of Colonial Chimney.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

For over 40 years, "Damper" Dan Dombek has been the trusted name behind Colonial Chimney, providing superior chimney cleaning and inspection services to homeowners across the region. As Dan passes the torch to the Embers team, we’re honored to continue his legacy of quality and care. With his vast experience and our expertise in fireplaces, the union of Embers and Colonial Chimney means you now have a one-stop shop for all things fire-related. From installation and maintenance of gas hearth products to keeping your wood burning chimney clean and safe.

In preparation for this transition, Embers’ own Mark Turgeon achieved his CSIA Certification in the fall of 2024. He now has the privilege of working closely with Dan to ensure the same high standards and personal touch that Colonial was known for will continue. Mark has had an exciting journey learning from Dan, whose experience and dedication to his craft has been a true inspiration.

You might need to schedule a cleaning if…

  • You haven't had your chimney cleaned in over a year – Annual cleaning helps prevent buildup that can cause chimney fires and ensures your fireplace works efficiently.

  • You notice a smoky odor inside your home – This could mean there’s a blockage in your chimney, restricting airflow and causing smoke to enter your living space.

  • Your chimney is showing signs of wear or damage – Cracks, missing mortar, or rusted damper parts can all be safety hazards that need professional attention.

  • You just bought a new home – With the sale of any home, NFPA 211 wants a Level 2 chimney inspection done. This can alert you to things that would be otherwise impossible to find.

  • You haven't had an inspection in the past 12 months – Regular inspections can catch issues early before they become bigger, more costly problems.

  • You see animals or nests inside your chimney – Small animals or debris can create blockages, which may affect the efficiency of your chimney and pose fire risks.
